Hello Educators and Friends!!

Are teachers truly ready to embrace technology in the classroom? Ideally, we would hope that our instructors are moving toward a Web 2.0 mindset---transforming text to an interactive platform. Students are no longer confined to the pages on the textbook or the walls of the classroom. The entire world can serve as "learning guides" customizing the experience to the individual students.

Yet, there appears to be many challenges that prevent educators from taking the quantum leap from the Whiteboard to Wikis. How do you see this limiting your ability to teach or learn?

Greetings Dr. Kendall, I cannot seem to add my favorite Web 2.0 Tool. Can you possibly tell me what I am doing wrong or how I can add my tool to the page.
Thanks, Tryphena

Dear Dr. Kendall,
The table for editing and commenting seems to be missing.

I am so not Web 2.0 because it took me forever to figure out how to get on here.

I tried hard to find the personal shopper page that Dr. Kendall teased us with the other day. Although I know it was probably not the one that she uses I went to mypersonalshopper.com. It was really a cool site. There are so many things that you could look at that is seems like there are endless possibilities. I enjoyed just see what was available.

The beauty of the money manager is it's user friendliness! As you look at the sample you can click a button and it displays exactly what the button indicated and the tool bar (buttons) do not disappear so you have to figure out how to go back. I am a firm believer in keeping your finances in order, the problem is that it is a messy. You have reciepts, checkbook entries, credit card entries, bills, bank statements, etc. The money manager can eliminate much of the mess without being complicated.

I went onto the web 2.0 and there was a wealth of information. It takes a little getting use to since it is set up different than most internet search engines. I went to doctor.com and found a doctor for my son in the Antioch area. I had not found a doctor since moving here in May. It was neat because I enter the area I lived in and put in my health insurance and the website found a docter in my area that accepted my health insurance. This was extremely helpful. I can see this tool be a good resource for find information and helping with creating lesson plans. I could also see how it can help the teacher to come up with fun and interesting ideals for the classroom. I will have to play around with the website more and get familiar with it. Thanks,April
